  • Target Fundraising Program — you can be a part of this great fundraiser by getting your own Target Guest Card or Target Visa and designating our school as the school recipient. 1% of your purchases made on either card are donated to the school.   • Red collection box in our school parking lot — Red Apple Recycling collects used clothing and shoes (in any condition) and all profits are given to schools for greening, recycling, and wellness programs. Please tell your neighbors and friends to recycle their used clothing in our collection bin. Red Apple Recycling mentioned that nothing is too used or too old to be recycled. How to Help Your Student Prepare for the TCAP (formally known as CSAP) Grades 3-5 start testing next week:
  • Ensure regular and prompt school attendance – learning that is measured by the TCAP tests takes place everyday. It is important that your student not miss school at any time, including during the assessment dates.
  • IMPORTANT: Students who arrive at school after the start of a test session will be required to take the test during a make-up session.
  • Provide a healthy breakfast and lunch every day. This is also very important on the days of the test.
  • Be sure your student gets enough rest at night. A good night’s sleep for elementary students is usually between 10 and 12 hours of sleep. Example: A student who gets up on a school day at 7:30 a.m. might go to bed between the hours of 7:30 and 9:30 p.m.
  • If your student wears glasses, be sure she has them on the days of the test and encourage her to wear them.
  • Promote a positive attitude about the test. Let your student know that there may be items he doesn't know the answer to and that’s okay, but that you expect him to do his best.

It's yearbook time! If you have photos and you have been meaning to get them to the yearbook staff, now is the time. Please email your photos (with the grade and teacher name if possible) to kathymtracy@gmail.com or morganstar2013@gmail.com or leave a disk in the office clearly marked ”yearbook photos” for Kathy Tracy or Jenn Bruns. Please submit your photos by March 1st. The more pictures of the students the better our yearbook will be. If you are interested in helping build the yearbook, please contact Kathy Tracy at 303-946-3466. Yearbooks are $15. If you need an order form, you can get one from the front office, or look in your child's backpack, they were sent home with last week’s Thursday folders. Please make your checks out to UPark PTA.

Enrichment News: Spring quarter enrichment brochure and online registration is now available. The majority of programs begin week of March 5.
